My bees enable me to have peace in a stressful world. I meditate with them, share my sad and happy stories, I feel heard at such a deep level.
When there was a death in my family earlier this year, I cried, and prayed and shared with them my deepest heartfelt emotions. It was like going to a sacred temple, the peace and presence that exudes from my hive is almost intangible.
When I observe them I see life in a microcosm, death ,birth, procreation, community, sharing doing the work that needs to be done. The difference is they behave in a sacred way, which I feel I have lost. They share the tasks, and do everything to a 100% of their ability. I know I don’t do that, but I am aware my relationships would be better if I did.
If you are passionate about bees and would like to know how to care for them I would really encourage just going and hanging out with them. That is what I did, for a long time. I sat and hummed, and learned the different sounds they make. I felt so passionate about this, I recently took two women to do the same,we walked in silence on a pilgrimage to my bees. Neither of them had had any contact with bees before, but they both had deep experiences. I am planning on doing more of these pilgrimages in the spring. The next one is coming up on the 23rd of April. Please contact me if you would like to come. firstname.lastname@example.org.
